Altice eyes opportunities in Portugal's media sector

Thursday 21 January 2016 | 12:32 CET | News
Altice Group CEO Patrick Drahi said the company is looking for possible acquisitions in the media sector, reports Portuguese news agency Lusa. He noted that in all the countries where Altice is telecom market leader or in second place, the group has media assets. Drahi admitted that the company had been looking at some assets in Portugal, but said so far there is "nothing concrete". The CEO of Altice's local subsidiary PT Portugal, Armando Pereira mentioned the possibility of launching a new TV channel that would air the matches of the football clubs for which PT has purchased the rights.
