Altice Portugal demonstrates 5G technology with Huawei

Altice Portugal is working with Huawei on the rollout of 5G networks and conducted the first demonstration of the technology in Lisbon, using a prototype Huawei router with speed of 1.5 Gbps. CEO Alexandre Fonseca expects the first commercial devices will arrive in Portugal in 2019 or 2020, although regular users are unlikely to have access to the technology before 2021 or 2022, Reuters reported.
