Portuguese govt to set up 5G testing zones

The Portuguese government announced the creation of "free technology zones", in particular in rural or peripheral areas, for operators to test 5G before officially launching the technology, reports Jornal de Noticias. According to the Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Guilherme W. d'Oliveira Martins, these will be space to replicate real-world conditions to test new 5G services and network interoperability.
