Altice Portugal reports 60% growth in fixed telephony traffic

Altice Portugal's mobile data traffic has increased by 5 percent and voice traffic by 35 percent as a result of the home confinement measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, the engineering and operations director Jose Pedro Nascimento told Lusa news agency. Residential internet use has increased 50 percent on weekends and 85 percent on weekdays, while fixed telephony traffic is up by 60 percent.
