Altice Portugal towers sale attracts strong interest - report
A consortium led by Morgan Stanley Infrastructure that includes Portugal's former Economy Minister Antonio Pires de Lima and former Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Transportation and Communications, Sergio Monteiro is among the potential competitors to purchase the 3,000 telecom towers put up for sale by Altice Portugal. In addition to this consortium, according to local daily Expresso, there are several other investors interested. 

For its part, Mergermarket reported that Spain's Cellnex, US Digital Bridge and American Tower, the French venture capital Antin and the Italian EI Tower are among those interested. According to Expresso, the towers in Portugal could be worth over EUR 500 million.

Altice Europe Q1 results still down slightly as customer growth improves

Altice has reported the first results for its new Altice Europe, to be created once the spin-off of Altice USA is completed next month. The figures show revenue flat year-on-year and EBITDA down slightly, while Altice said subscriber numbers were the best it's ever reported. The company also announced that the CEOs of its French business will also lead the new Altice Europe.

Altice towers attract bids from American Tower, KKR, among others - report

Altice's towers have attracted bids from American Tower and private equity firm KKR, among others, Bloomberg reported, citing sources close to the matter. The towers could fetch about EUR 3 billion. Cellnex is interested in acquiring Altice's towers in Portugal, a source familiar with the matter told Bloomberg. The portfolio of around 3,000 towers could be worth some EUR 600 million. Other players may also be looking at the purchases, while talks with Cellnex are still at an early stage, the report said.

Altice to sell communication towers in Portugal

Altice Europe's CEO Dennis Okhuijsen confirmed that the communications towers that the group holds in Portugal through Meo are part of the list of non-strategic assets for sale.
