Altice’s towers have attracted bids from American Tower and private equity firm KKR, among others, Bloomberg reported, citing sources close to the matter. The towers could fetch about EUR 3 billion. Other companies, including infrastructure operator TDF as well as other private equity firms, have expressed interest in all or parts of the businesses in France, Portugal and the Dominican Republic, brought in by an invitation for bids from Altice head Patrick Drahi, sent out last month. Altice may set up a new company for the assets, and sell stakes in that. Altice, American Towers and TDF all declined to comment on the matter. KKR did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Cellnex Telecom could bid for the towers in Portugal, though Altice has also approached the company for its French towers, the sources said. Orange has also hinted it might be interested in the Portuguese towers.

Altice has started talks with Tofane Global to sell its international carrier business in France, Portugal and the Dominican Republic. In December, the company agreed to sell some Swiss telecom operations and data centre businesses valued at more than USD 200 million.
