Altice talks to NYC about Cablevision fibre deal - report

Altice is in talks with the New York City department of IT and the Public Service Commissoin about expanding the New York area fibre optic footprint of Cablevision, which it expects to acquire for USD 17.7 million next year, reports the New York Post. Altice is taking the same approach as Verizon in offering to fibre the city, at a time when the city government and operator are locking horns over contractual service obligations. Altice has also pledged to find up to USD 900 million of cost savings, in large part by cutting jobs and salaries at Cablevision. The CEO was found guilty last year
