Altice to invest USD 138 mln in Dominican Republic

Altice, which owns telecoms operators Orange and Tricom in the Dominican Republic, has pledged to invest DOP 6.2 billion (USD 138 million) in network upgrades throughout the country in 2016, reports Dominican Today, citing Altice COO Michel Combes. The investment is 1.6 percent higher than the previous year and will be mostly devoted to bringing fibre-optic broadband at speeds of 100 Mbps to 200,000 homes and expanding the 4G network to cover all cities and the 3G network to 90 percent of the population.
