Altice USA, the new owner of cable operators Suddenlink and Cablevision, is planning to lay off 600 workers at a call centre in Shelton and a back office facility in Stratford, both in Connecticut, the Hartford Courant reported. The company attributed the move to improvements in technology, which have led to a significant decline in call volume. Employees were notified of the layoffs on the morning of 9 August. They will lose their jobs in November, a company spokesperson said.
