Amazon faces fresh questions about UK tax payments

Amazon is set to be grilled by MPs again about its UK tax payments, reports The Guardian. An investigation by the newspaper found that it was pushing the tax rules to their limit to minimise its tax bill. Company filings showed Amazon's main UK company paid GBP 3.2 million in corporation tax in 2012, on sales of GBP 320 million. However, the company told investors that its UK sales reached GBP 4.2 billion in 2012. The Guardian investigation found that the company is pushing tax definitions to their limit and that authorities seem unable, or unwilling, to prevent the use of aggressive tax
