Amazon Go unveils physical store concept with no checkout

Tuesday 6 December 2016 | 11:34 CET | News
Amazon has announced its new Amazon Go physical concept, with no checkout required. Customers can walk in, choose their products and walk out. Amazon said the concept is made possible by the same types of technologies used in self-driving cars, namely computer vision, sensor fusion, and deep learning. The Just Walk Out technology automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual cart. Shortly following the shopping trip, customers will see their Amazon account charged, with a receipt sent.
