Amazon Kindle sales top 1 mln a week
Amazon.com announced that it's selling over 1 million of its Kindle e-readers each week. Kindle sales have topped 1 million each week for the past three weeks. The Kindle Fire tablet has been Amazon's best-selling product since its launch 11 weeks ago, according to the retailer, which said it's ordering "millions" more of the devices to meet the high demand. The full Kindle range also includes the basic Kindle for USD 79, the Kindle Touch for USD 149 and the Kindle Touch 3G for USD 149. The Kindle Fire sells for USD 199.

Amazon expands Kindle Touch 3G sales worldwide

Amazon.com has started taking pre-orders for its Kindle Touch 3G e-reader for shipping to customers in over 175 countries. The Kindle Touch 3G comes with free 3G mobile data access for downloading e-books and shopping on Amazon. Amazon sales up 35%, profits shrink

Amazon.com reported fourth-quarter sales of USD 17.43 billion, up 35 percent from a year earlier. However higher costs meant operating profit fell to USD 260 million from USD 474 million a year earlier, and net profit dropped 58 percent to USD 177 million or 38 cents a share.
