
Amazon Music, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group will together remaster thousands of songs and albums to Ultra High Definition, for Amazon Music HD customers. The partnership will cover music to be streamed of all genres and times, In addition, music from artists such as the Eagles, Elton John, Linkin Park, Tom Petty, Ariana Grande, Jon Pardi, Shawn Mendes, Lady Gaga, Lil Tecca, Selena Gomez and Post Malone, among others, have been remixed in 3D Audio formats including Dolby Atmos and Sony 360RA, for a more immersive listening experience, Amazon said.
No financial details were disclosed about the partnership.
The company said that its Amazon Music HD service, launched last year, already lets people stream 5 million songs in Ultra HD. The service costs USD 12.99 per month for Prime members, USD 14.99 per month for Amazon customers, or an additional USD 5 per month for current subscribers, to Individual or Family plans. Amazon Music HD is currently available to stream in the US, UK, Germany, and Japan. It recently also started rolling out in Spain, Italy and France.
