Amazon posts small net loss in Q2

Amazon.com reported net sales up 22 percent year-on-year in the second quarter to USD 15.70 billion, in line with its guidance. Negative forex effects took 3 percent off sales growth. Operating profit fell 26 percent to USD 79 million, but was better than the company forecast, and the net result was a loss of USD 7 million or 2 cents a share, versus a profit of USD 7 million or 1 cent a share a year earlier. Operating cash flow increased 41 percent to USD 4.53 billion for the trailing twelve-month period. Amazon said its Kindle devices again led the bestsellers list, with its top 10 selling
