Amazon reports record device sales on Cyber Monday

Amazon reported strong sales for its own devices over the holiday shopping weekend. On Cyber Monday (28 November), Amazon device sales were up more than 2x over last year. Amazon did not disclose exact figures, but said it sold "millions" of the new Echo Dot and Alexa devices, while Fire Tablet sales were up 2x compared to the same day last year and Amazon Fire TV sales rose over 2.5x year-over-year. The company claims Fire TV is the top-selling streaming media player in the US across all retailers.
