Amazon unveils new Kindle Fire HD tablet
Amazon announced a new range of Kindle Fire Android tablets. The new Kindle Fire HD comes with LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, increased storage and improved screen and battery life. Amazon is also offering a year of data access with 250MB per month, 20GB of Amazon Cloud storage and a USD 10 credit in the Amazon Appstore for a one-time cost of USD 49.99. The tablet also features Bluetooth, HDMI, a front-facing camera, IPS screen with Gorilla Glass, the upgraded Amazon Silk browser, parental controls and exclusive games. 

The Kindle Fire HD is available with a 7-inch screen with 1280x800 resolution and 16 or 32GB storage from USD 199, shipping from 14 September. The 8.9-inch version offers a 1920x1200 resolution screen and 16, 32 or 64GB storage from USD 299 with Wi-Fi and USD 499 with LTE. It will ship from 20 November. Amazon is also offering an update of the original Kindle Fire with a faster processor and more memory, for a reduced price of USD 159 from 14 September. 

The new tablets will also be available in select European markets from 25 October. In the UK, the Kindle Fire will cost GBP 129, and the 7-inch Kindle Fire HD will sell for GBP 159 for 16GB storage and GBP 199 for 32GB. The basic tablet is also available in Germany, France, Spain and Italy for EUR 159, while the HD version starts at EUR 199.
