America Movil to invest USD 340 mln in Dominican operations

America Movil plans to invest around DOP 12.6 billion (approximately USD 340 million) to develop its fixed and mobile operations in the Dominican Republic this year. America Movil also plans to merge its fixed and mobile units, Codetel and Claro, in the Dominican Republic under the single brand Claro, as it previously did in Argentina and other Latin American markets. The integration is expected to be completed by April this year, Codetel president Oscar Pena told Listin Diario. According to Pena, America Movil's capex for 2010 reached DOP 9.0 billion in 2010, plus donations of DOP 200
