Americans spend 22% of phone time on entertainment - survey

US consumers spend around 22 percent of their time on smart phones on entertainment activities such as games, music, streaming video and web surfing, according to GfK MRI survey conducted between September and November 2015. The research also found that 22 percent of smartphone time was spent on phone calls, 22 percent on texting, 10 percent on social media and 10 percent on e-mail. Texting is the feature respondents said they would miss most if it was not available.
