AMS-IX says no internet tapping took place via its exchange

The Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX) said no government tapping had taken place via its exchange. The exchange added that it had not been asked for any taps. Nor could any any taps have been made without its knowledge as no party can connect to its IP interconnection platform without AMS-IX being aware of it. AMS-IX made the statements in response to reports the US and Dutch governments have been tapping internet traffic, with some stories mentioning the Dutch exchange. AMS-IX said it wanted to make the record straight, following questions in Parliament to the ministry of interior affairs
