Amsterdam fire service tests Google Glass

The fire department in the Dutch region of Amsterdam-Amstelland is starting to test the use of Google Glass, in cooperation with ICT services provider Incentro. The augmented reality glasses will be used initially in training exercises, looking at applications for apps such as Google Hangouts and Layar. The fire service will also partner with developers to look at creating new apps. In a demonstration video, Google Glass is used to scan a vehicle licence plate and look up information associated with the number.
