Amsterdam universities plan AI research with Huawei support

The Amsterdam universities UvA and VU are starting working on new research into artificial intelligence. Huawei will invest EUR 3.5 million in the lab, reports the paper Financieele Dagblad. The Dutch state security agency AIVD and ministries of education and economic affairs have cleared the cooperation, despite warnings from the government about Chinese partners. The lab will focus on AI for search engines that can interact with the user.
