Anatel rejects requests for changes to 4G auction
Brazil's National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) has rejected most requests asking for changes to the 4G auction planned for 30 September, reports O Globo. Requests were submitted by operators Claro, Vivo, Oi, as well as industry associations and financial institutions. Among them were calls to set maximum amounts to be spent by the auction winners in clearing the 700 MHz band, now occupied by analogue radio and TV broadcasters, and payment rules for the licenses. The regulating body only upheld some technical suggestions for clarifications and adjustments.
