Ancine and Anatel partner to fight online piracy

Brazil's Film Agency (Ancine) and the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) have teamed up to jointly regulate the administrative blocking of internet addresses that distribute audiovisual works without the prior authorization of the copyright holders. The initiative is inspired by success stories from countries like the UK and Portugal, where administrative bans reduced the volume of online piracy by around 70 percent, Ancine said.
