Andean Community countries to slash roaming charges by 90% this year

Monday 24 February 2020 | 14:42 CET | News
Peru's telecommunications regulator Osiptel announced that Andean community (CAN) member states have agreed to cut international roaming rates in voice and data communications by 90 percent starting in July. The move will affect some 111 million mobile phone users in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, said Osiptel, adding that the new rates will be particularly beneficial for the 1 million-plus Peruvians living in border areas.
