Android Pay launches in Ireland

Android Pay has launched in Ireland. The contactless payment method available at thousands of retail locations throughout the country, including Eason, McDonald's, Tesco and SPAR. To use the system, customers need to download the app from the Play Store and add a MasterCard or Visa card (credit or debit) from AIB and KBC. More banks are set to come on board over the coming months. The system can also be used to make in-app purchases from sites like Adverts.ie, Deliveroo, Hotel Tonight and Uber, with more to come.
