Android Pay to go live in Taiwan in June - report

Google will launch its Android Pay mobile payment service in Taiwan on 1 June, with support from three local banks, local newspaper Economic Daily News (EDN) reports. The service will initially be available for Taiwan customers using credit cards issued by CTBC Bank, First Bank and Bank SinoPac. Nearly 6 million credit cards issued by CTBC Bank are currently being used on the local market, DigiTimes reports. Android-powered devices account for over 80 percent of smartphones in use in Taiwan.
