Android reaches 80% of Chinese smartphone market

Of the total smartphone sales in China for the three months to March, 80 percent were Android phones, an increase of 8.1 percentage points compared to the same period a year earlier, according to data from Kantar. In second place was Apple's iOS with a 17.9 percent share of China's smartphone market, down by 5.4 percentage points year-on-year. Phones with Windows operating systems accounted for 1 percent of the total market in Q1, down 0.9 percentage points year-on-year. BlackBerry's share declined by 0.2 percentage points to 0.1 percent.
