Android share of UK handset sales rises at expense of iOS

Android further increased its dominance of the UK smartphone market in the three months to April, mainly at the expense of Apple's iOS and Blackberry. The latest smartphone sales data from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech revealed that Android-powered devices accounted for 58.2 percent of sales during the period, up by 2.0 percent from the previous month and by 1.0 percent from the same period of 2013. Apple's iOS dipped to 30.2 percent from the previous month's share of 32.1 percent due to a drop-off in sales of the iPhone 5S during the period, but was still 2.2 percent up on its 28.0 percent share
