Android share still down in US despite new flagship phones

Android is still struggling to gain market share in the US over Apple's iOS, despite the recent launch of new flagship smartphones from Samsung and LG. According to the latest smartphone sales data from Kantar Worldpanel, Android dropped to a 61.7 percent share in the three months to April, down 5.9 points from a year earlier. Apple accounted for 36.5 percent of smartphone sales in the US during the period, a 5.8 point increase year-on-year. Kantar found that the Samsung Galaxy S8 released in mid-April had little impact on the figures, with neither S8 nor LG's G6 figuring in the top-ten
