ANFR mulls mobile app, M2M for cell strength map

Thursday 15 November 2012 | 11:13 CET | News
French frequencies agency ANFR is considering whether to develop a smartphone and tablet app for Cartoradio, its online map of mobile base stations and their emission levels. The authority is running a survey at its website asking whether users would want a function allowing them to send signal strength data from their mobile to a server. It also asks whether Cartoradio users would be ready to pay up to EUR 2 for this added functionality. If it comes to pass, Cartoradio will find a live source of mobile coverage and signal strength data for researchers and consumer groups.
