Anga calls for analogue TV switch-off by end-2019

The German association of cable operators has called for legislation to ensure the switch-off of analogue TV by the end of 2019. Ahead of its annual congress Anga Com, the group said it expects the number of digital providers and customers to increase steadily this year and by the end of 2018 the market should be ready for a full shutdown. A legal cut-off date would help provide more certainty for operators and customers alike as well as help ensure a uniform communication in the market. The statement comes at Unitymedia, the second-largest cable operator in Germany, prepares for its analogue
