Ansip urges EU leaders to agree on end-date for roaming

The European Commission's Vice-President for the Digital Single Market, Andrus Ansip, has once again called on EU leaders to take rapid action to bring about a single telecoms market, starting with a definite timetable for ending EU-wide roaming surcharges. "Despite EU heads of state themselves agreeing – a long time ago – on the significance, ambition and urgency of creating a single European telecoms market, it still has not happened," said Ansip at the European Digital Forum in Brussels. The EC commissioner went on to criticise EU leaders for focusing too much on national markets, urging
