Antwerp city starts roll-out of LoRa network

The city of Antwerp, iMinds and Digipolis are rolling out an Internet of Things network in the Belgian city, based on LoRa technology. Research institute iMinds and the local ICT agency Digipolis are already rolling out antennas in the city centre, and the network is expected to cover half a million residents and businesses upon completion. Two applications have already been developed for the network: sensors on vehicles used by the postal service bpost and real-time air quality measurements by the start-up Communithings.
