Apple acquires music analytics start-up Semetric - report

Apple has acquired British music analytics start-up Semetric, reports the Guardian, citing documents filed at Companies House. Semetric runs the Musicmetric analytics tool, launched in 2008 to allow music labels to track sales data, BitTorrent downloads and social networking statistics. It later expanded to YouTube videos and audio streams. Semetric raised GBP 3 million of funding in January 2014 to move into other areas, including e-books, films, TV shows and games.
