Apple app store reaches nearly 50 billion downloads

Apple has announced that nearly 50 billion apps have been downloaded worldwide from its App Store. The company is also announcing a contest in which the person who downloads the 50 billionth app will receive a USD 10,000 App Store gift card. Consumers among those who download the first 50 apps after the 50 billionth app is downloaded will receive a USD 500 App Store gift card.
