Apple denies reports of plan to sell low-cost iPhone

Apple's vice president of marketing, Phil Schiller, told the Shanghai Evening News that the company had no intention to sell an inexpensive iPhone model to win market share, after a source told Bloomberg earlier this month that it would do so before the end of the year. Schiller said that even if some rivals sell lower-cost smartphones with fewer functions, this was not Apple's product development strategy. He added that the next iPhone would feature the company's usual quality criteria and that using cheaper materials to make an iPhone would contradict the philosophy of Apple founder Steve
