Apple evades taxes in China, pays USD 10 mln fine

Apple's computer subsidiary in China failed to pay CNY 452 million (approximately USD 70 million) in due taxes by the end of 2013, Xinhuanet reports, citing an official accounting inspection report released by the Ministry of Finance. Apple Computer Trading (Shanghai) has included maintenance costs into pre-tax deductions, the Ministry said. The Ministry also said that Apple has already paid back the taxes, as well as CNY 65 million (approximately USD 10 million) in late fees.
