Apple faces two class action lawsuits for slowing iPhones

Saturday 23 December 2017 | 07:19 CET | News
Apple is facing two class action lawsuits filed in the US by groups of iPhone users following its confirmation that it slows older models through updates as they age, writes BBC.com. Apple said the reason behind its action was to "prolong the life" of the devices and maximise diminishing battery power. The lawsuits were filed in California and Chicago by end-users representing others who claim they suffered "economic damage". In related news, the Dutch consumers union called for Apple to provide new replacement batteries, rather than slow down iPhones with waning battery capacity.
