Apple gains market share in Q2 in US, China; mixed performance in Europe

Apple's share of smartphone sales increased in the US and Chinese markets in the second quarter, while the picture across big countries in Europe was mixed and the company lost ground in Japan, according to Kantar. Smartphones equipped with the iOS operating system accounted for 44.7 percent of US sales in the three months to June, up 1.6 points from the same period in 2020, with rival Android phones at 55.3 percent.
