Apple hires BlackBerry staff to work on car OS - report

Apple has hired "dozens" of software engineers from BlackBerry's automotive software division QNX to work on the company's plug-and-play, self-driving operating system, according to unnamed sources cited by Bloomberg. The engineers now work at an Apple office in the Ottawa suburb of Kanata, with Apple targeting QNX employees because of their experience building fundamental components of operating systems and power management, said a former QNX executive. Bloomberg previously revealed that Apple had decided to scale back its "Project Titan" automotive ambitions and concentrate on self-driving
