Apple Korea compensates user for iPhone tracking feature

Apple Korea has lost its first court case over the iPhone feature that tracks a user's location. The Changwon District Court confirmed that a lawsuit for KRW 1 million was filed on 26 April. Apple was given two weeks to respond or pay the compensation. Apple Korea did not appeal the ruling and paid the KRW 1 million to the user, Arirang News reports. The lawsuit claims that the tracking feature infringes upon Article 17 of the Constitution which guards an individual's right to privacy. The suit asked for psychological damages of KRW 200,000 per month for the five months of iPhone use.
