Apple negotiates cut in royalties on music services - report

Apple is seeking to reduce record labels' share of revenue from streaming, people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg. The talks cover its subscription service Apple Music and the iTunes store and come ahead of an expiry of deals with major record labels at the end of June. The negotiations would bring Apple closer to the rate Spotify pays labels. Spotify recently secured a reduction in this rate, based on expected continued growth in its customer base.
