Apple ranks as top US smartphone OEM in December

During the three months ending in December 2014, 182 million people in the US owned smartphones (74.9% mobile market penetration) up 4 percent since September, according to a new report from ComScore. Apple ranked as the top OEM with 41.6 percent of US smartphone subscribers. Samsung tanked second with 29.7 percent market share (up 0.7 percentage points from September), followed by LG with 8 percent (up 1.1 percentage points), Motorola with 5.2 percent and HTC with 3.7 percent.
