Apple to drop headphones plug on next iPhone - report

Apple will make few changes to its next iPhone to be released this autumn, with the only major difference losing the headphones jack, people familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal. Apple's newest phones are expected to maintain the current 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays, while removing the headphones plug will allow the devices to be thinner and more water resistant, the report said. The Lightning connector will serve as a port for both charging the phone and connecting headphones, which should allow Apple to shave a millimetre off the thickness. An Apple spokeswoman declined
