Apple to give shareholders proxy access

Apple has amended its bylaws to give long-time shareholders proxy access, reports the Wall Street Journal, citing a securities filing. Proxy access allows a shareholder of 3 percent of shares held continuously for three years to nominate representatives to the company's board of directors. Shareholders can nominate up to 20 percent of Apple's directors, which works out at one director on Apple's eight-member board, said the report.
