Apple to pay states USD 113 mln to settle iPhone throttling case

Apple has agreed to pay USD 113 million to settle a lawsuit from multiple states over its 2016 decision to throttle iPhone speeds to address unexpected shutdowns in some phones. The Arizona, Arkansas and Indiana state attorneys general led the investigation of Apple by more than 30 states. They found the company misled consumers over the battery problems with the phones, and rather than disclose these or replace the batteries, the company changed its software to mitigate the issues.
