Apple wins ban on Samsung Galaxy Tab sales in Europe

Apple has won an injunction against the sale of Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the European Union. A German court barred the Korean firm temporarily from selling its flagship tablet in all countries of the EU except the Netherlands, Reuters reports. Apple spokeswoman Kristin Huguet confirmed the preliminary injunction, while Samsung said it would challenge the decision. "The request for an injunction was filed with no notice to Samsung, and the order was issued without any hearing or presentation of evidence from Samsung," Samsung said. Apple has accused Samsung of copying its devices such as the iPhone and iPad and filed a number of patent infringement suits against Samsung. Apple earlier won a similar ban on Galaxy Tab sales in Australia. A separate case will be heard on 10 August to decide on an injunction in the Netherlands.
