Arcep awards CGC licence to Inmarsat for EAN project

Monday 26 February 2018 | 21:22 CET | News
French regulator Arcep has authorised the request by Inmarsat to use the S-band spectrum that the company owns for ground-base stations which make up part of its European Aviation Network (EAN). The request for the use of the 2 GHz MSS band with complementary ground components (CGC) was granted by the regulator following a consultation published in July 2017 to seek stakeholders' views on the authorisation, which will now be valid until May 2027. In October 2017, Inmarsat's application to UK regulator Ofcom was also successful.
