Arcep consults on mobile spectrum in overseas territories

French telecom regulator Arcep has opened a public consultation until 30 September on mobile spectrum allocation in overseas territories. The markets covered are Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Saint Bart, Saint Martin, Reunion, Mayotte and Saint Pierre et Miquelon. The purpose of the consultation is to collect information on the needs of operators in these territories, the degree of competition, and support to their economies and job markets. The regulator is also fielding opinions on the licensing process itself.
