Arcep issues 700 MHz licences

French telecom regulator Arcep has issued licences to Bouygues Telecom, Free Mobile, Orange France and SFR for the 700 MHz spectrum bands they won at auction in November. This step marks the completion of the allocation procedure. The four operators will pay a combined set fee of EUR 2.798 billion in four instalments between 2015 and 2018 plus a variable annual fee equal to 1 percent of the revenue earned from the use of these frequencies. The spectrum is currently being used for DTT broadcasting and will become available across the country between April 2016 and July 2019. The operators are
